The yellow brick road has been a long and exciting one for The Wizard of Auz, and after fifteen years of service we have finally created our Emerald City in The Byron Bay Arts & Industry Estate.

The Wizard of Auz Jewellery & Gemstone Gallery, fondly known by staff and friends as the Wizoplex, opened its doors in mid-December and has quickly established itself as a favourite haunt amongst the locals of Byron Bay and Mullumbimby, as well as visitors to the area.

With a strong tradition of gemstone and crystal awareness, Byronshire has many shops and services to cater for this market. The Wizard of Auz has spent 10 years supplying the local market which has brought an awareness of a lack of diversity, especially when it comes to more unusual and rare items. With our extensive overseas experience gained over the last 15 years, we stock a lot of items not usually seen in Australia, or anywhere else for that matter. Since opening the warehouse, we have received a lot of very positive feedback about how broad and varied our range is and how different we are from other stores. We think that our years of travelling overseas and supplying stores from Hollywood to Hong Kong, along with a great love of shopping ourselves, has given us a good idea about what people want from a jewellery and crystal shop. Our broad product base includes over 100 varieties of stones set in jewellery, over 300 mineral varieties in specimens and carvings, and 2000 varieties and cuts of gemstone beads and beaded bracelets.

With our new space and years of international wanderings behind us we have contacted many of the skilled and gifted jewellers and craftspeople that we know and are honoured to be bringing their products to Australia. This not only further diversifies our range, but also brings new and exciting items to our customers. On our agenda for 2008 are in-house silversmiths and beaders, as well as show-and-tell evenings and other community events.

There is ample all-day off-street parking as well as other great shops in the Byron Arts and Industry Estate. Down-town Byron Bay and the beach are only 5 minutes away.
