We want you to get the best from your stones and enjoy them for years to come. Remember, we are a short moment in a stone’s life, so with care and respect, your gemstones, gemstone ornaments and specimens should outlast all of us mere mortals. Gemstones have a durability and timelessness when left alone that many material possessions do not. Put a new book, or shirt in a box and leave it for 30 years and when retrieved they will look, feel and smell old. Most minerals will be the same as the day they were put away – even where mould, water or critters have got into the box their former glory can be restored with a wash. The best thing you can do for your minerals is as little as possible – other than an occasional cleaning or cleansing, all you need to do is to keep them out of harms way. A stone may sit in a box for 100 years, but if that box is then dropped, that stone can break in an instant – an unfortunate culmination of millions of years of creation.
